How often does your administration/council review its policy/procedures handbook? I have read that in HR the standard practice is every 3-5 years for a complete review.

Our Council updates its policy handbook every two years.
we are looking to update our non existant policy/handbook for the council - I just finished ouur employee hand books that were last updated in 1978. as you can imagine the update came at a steep price. A price we can't afford for the council / policy handbook. Anyway or anywhere for a copy I can manipulate.

We tackled one policy per month, typically with the eldest in the manual, and sometimes a more current one that needs a re-write.
We make housekeeping updates to our council policy manual every year with more complex policy changes adopted by the council as we get them. Happy to share any if needed.
